Lecture - In this week lecture. The lecturer discusses the significance of incorporating images into website design and content. Images serve as a potent tool for establishing connections and conveying messages effectively to our audience. Selecting the right types of images is crucial. For instance, logo images, representing the brand's identity, should be consistently displayed on every page. Utilizing logo design trends like animated logos can enhance audience engagement. Photographs, featuring animate or inanimate objects, add depth to the content. Illustrations offer opportunities for customization and originality, whether through customized photos or creating bespoke illustrations. Additionally, incorporating charts, tables, and infographics enables the visualization of complex data, making it more accessible and engaging for users.

When incorporating images, it's crucial to adhere to certain guidelines. Firstly, prioritize the use of meaningful, high-quality imagery. Visitors should quickly grasp the purpose of your website and how it can benefit them upon arrival. Employ compelling, striking photos on key pages like the homepage and landing pages to effectively convey your website's objective, enticing visitors to delve deeper into your content.

The two important element in the photogaphy can be made a great photography are lighting and composition. Observing to the rule of thirds is essential in photography, as it provides a fundamental guideline for composition. Images with a balanced and organized arrangement are inherently attractive to viewers. Following this rule involves positioning the subject along or at the intersections of the imaginary gridlines that divide the image into thirds, contributing to a visually pleasing composition.

Good lighting is a must. In portraits, make sure the subject’s face is visible and no unwanted shadows cover their face or creep behind them.

The image is composed with a person on the right side, leaving the required space for the call to action on the left.

The subjects are placed on the left, but the way the image is composed gives the option of placing the headline and call to action in the centre.
